Often known for his on-the-field determination and team-first attitude, Josh Harrison is a complete embodiment of the spirit of baseball and his fellow Pittsburgh Pirates teammates have recognized Josh's commitment to the community.

Josh Harrison has been nominated as the Pittsburgh Pirates 2017 Marvin Miller Man of the Year. The Marvin Miller Man of the Year is presented to the player whose on-field performance and contributions to his community most inspire others to higher levels of achievement.

Since its founding in 2016, Josh and Brittney Harrisons for Hope Foundation has been providing charitable assistance to the most in-need residents of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. The organization was established by Pittsburgh Pirates infielder and two-time All-Star Josh Harrison in an effort to leverage his platform and status as a fan-favorite in the Pittsburgh community.

The mission of Josh & Brittney Harrisons for Hope Foundation is to provide low-income children with clothing from the cradle to college. With the help of his wife, Brittney, Josh Harrison intends to impact more than 10,000 low-income children in the Pittsburgh area through their Foundation by the end of 2018.

This past summer, the Harrisons for Hope Foundation began their annual Harrisons for Hope Baby Shower, in which they provided charitable assistance to 100 expectant low-income mothers. The Foundation invited the mothers to a baby shower and brunch hosted by Josh and Brittney Harrison at Hotel Monaco in Pittsburgh. Attendees received an hour of pampering, a gift basket, and an opportunity to make connections with other mothers, all while enjoying top-flight cuisine. Each mother left with a diaper bag full of clothes and accessories for newborn babies.

Harrison has carried this sense of heart and passion into his philanthropic endeavors in the community and the Marvin Miller Man of the Year nomination for the Pirates is a testament to this community endeavors. Though his statistics and accolades speak for themselves, Harrison is as well-regarded throughout the league for his involvement in the community as he is for his exceptional play for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
